Hope you all had a great weekend! I sure did :)
Made it home to Niagara to see some of my very favorite people in the entire world.
Saturday I spent the day doing errands with my Dad and then clearing out old things from my childhood from the basement. I'm looking to pare down to only the items worth keeping. Packed some boxes up full of old texts and books from University. And then spent the night with the one and only Zaki B. We were able to drop in on a going away party for our Dearest Sami's brother and girlfriend. Visited with the extended family for a while and then hit Starbucks for excellent chats and gooood warm beverages. YUMMMY #saltedcaramelmocha
Sunday I woke up to prepare a delicious brunch for the loveliest Hailley Mac. We caught up finally after wayyyy to many months of not seeing each other. On the table a homemade crust less quiche, with cheese, bacon and potato. And fruit to top it all off. I love our chats so much and wish they would never end! And you can imagine allll the topics we needed to cover since our last hang out in #JULY! Mental note: never letting it go that long again!
So maybe I mentioned that I had been shopping recently. I went shopping Nov 1 and bought a few new things because I decided that I'd rather wear leggings and nice tops to the office than dresses all winter. Tights are so cold, and dresses are so gusty that it's a terrible combination in the frigidness of Ontario winters. I'm also (not completely, of course) trying to move away from wearing a blazer every day in the office. I think it's become a signature look for me and I'd like to spice things up a bit.
The one thing that I whole heartedly believe in is if you're going to wear leggings in public, your shirt must cover your butt. Maybe you have or maybe you haven't yet realized but most leggings made at stores like H&M, Forever 21, and the likes are SEE THROUGH! Yes my friends, bend over, fully exposed, see through. This is why it's critical that you wear something that covers your butt.
So my weeks worth of outfits went something like this:
Monday November 4- A standard office Monday. Nothing new or exciting to report and no meetings. I had planned to look cute but comfortable and I wore my hair in a bun on the top of my head, mint green sweater from Forever 21, leggings from H&M and black riding boots from Macy's (Chinese Laundry). My sweater had gold detailing on it so I wore a combination of gold and rose gold accessories.
**Mixing metals is so very "in"*, so spice things up with combinations of silver and gold, silver and rose gold, gold and rose gold, gold and bronze, silver and pewter**

Tuesday felt like the longest day because I was anticipating a great evening. Spent of course with Bee and Joshua Radin. He played at the Music Hall on the Danforth and although we have seen him there before this was a general admission show, and he opened for Matt Nathanson. We ate at the New York Cafe at the corner of Broadview & Danforth Ave. Yummy yummy Gyro Dinner for a very very reasonable price. It's just a little Ma and Pa operation but honestly those are often the best kind of places to eat. When you get real home cooked food. Fluffed up in the washroom and off we went to get in line. My body is definitely not made for GA anymore, but JR is always worth it! I wore an all black outfit, black tank/leggings and wedge boots, with a kimono style cover with a silver design. I thought with all the stage lights the silver my glitter and I might stand out amongst the crowd. I wore the green scarf at work because otherwise the outfit seemed a little revealing in the cleavage area. I don't have much to flaunt but best to keep the girls covered up. Cutest thing, there was a proposal at the concert and JR sang them "My my love" and he introduced the situation with such modesty and gave them a couple of minutes in the spotlight. How adorable!
And there you have it. all updated on my last week. Here we are on Monday again! Can't believe how time is flying by! Sooo much to look forward to in the next few weeks, month and in the New Year too! Time flies when you're having fun!!
XO
L.
