Autobiographies

Writing my Autobiography---I never realized how much of a struggle this would be until I started. As a requirement for my school application I must write a 3 page autobiography. Which to me sounded like a walk in the park. Who knows me better than me? No body...

Now that I'm attempting this I'm realizing that it's extremely difficult to make sense of 26 years in 3 pages. It's also extremely difficult to figure out what is actually important enough to go in to an autobiography. I clearly cannot include everything given my page limitations.

After dissecting myself it's kind of bizarre to think of all the things that actually shape the person you are at this moment in time. Had you done one thing differently, you would most likely be on an entirely different path in life and could potentially be an entirely different person.

I'm the oldest of two girls. Who would I be if I had a brother, or was the youngest? I grew up in a small town. What would I be like if I had known big city life from birth? Would I have made the same post-secondary school choices? The thoughts are endless and fascinating to me.

But here I am- stumped at the task of choosing the most important parts of these 26 years, yet another decision that could determine so much. Will I or won't I get accepted in to this program?

Any thoughts and/or suggestions would be helpful. Anyone written an autobiography recently that has some pointers?

Great weekend!

Hope you had an amazing weekend! I sure did :)

Spent a little quality sister time at home and hardly left the house. Sometimes you just need a weekend of down time. We cooked, cleaned, lounged, I Pinterested and Polyvored my life away while Britt worked on her never ending puzzle and knit us some new dish clothes. We sound like a couple of old ladies. But it was so enjoyable and relaxing.

I had a proud big sister moment this weekend when Britt signed up for 2 week knitting course at the Purple Purl in Leslieville. For the first time in a long time we hit up Meat on the Beach, a cute little grocer in our neigubourhood that sells homemade breads, dips, and other goodies along with produce and canned items, while we were out.

Needless to say my weekend wardrobe was so very casual and so so comfortable.

You can check out my Polyvore ideas that I had over the weekend here:

Have a super Monday!

Casual Fridays

Hi All

Firstly I'd like to thank everyone who took a peek at my blog yesterday. I had over 30 views and that makes me very excited. So again, thank you!

Today at my office it's casual Friday. This is the day of the week most people look forward to most for a few reasons 1. It's the last day of our work week of course! 2. We can wear jeans in the office!!

I don't always take advantage of jeans Friday because in the warmer months I'd rather take advantage of sundress season, and in the winter I find it cozy to wear tights with boots and sweaters, however today I'm taking full advantage and have my skinnies on!

This simple style is great for the weekends. Lunch dates, shopping, hair, nails, groceries...whatever you might be doing with your Saturday and Sunday afternoons, this look will suit you.

Peach is very "in" this Spring along with Poppy Red, Mint Green, Lemon Yellow, Violet and Chartreuse ( to name a few). This peach top can be switched out for any color in this particular outfit. Choose your favorite or something that compliments your complexion.

Actual Items today are from:

Cardigan & Leopard print flats- Target (Store Location: America)
Peach sleeveless, collard button down- H&M (Department: Divided Black)
Dark wash skinny jeans- Macy's (Brand: American Rag)

Have a fabulous day Beauties!

March 21, 2013- Today's outfit

Hellooo and Good Morning,

First and foremost I'd like to send a little "Happy Birthday" wish to one of my dearest friends Miss Mia Bettio. We have known each other for four years now and she has been one of the very best additions to my life. As an adult it has really come to matter who I surround myself with. I'm uninterested in relationships with people that I see no longevity. With Mia, I know full heartedly that we will be raising our kids together, telling husband stories, and talking on the phone well into the years we're old and grey. I look forward to the years to come with her, I appreciate the years that have past and time we've spent laughing, dancing, soul searching and boy chatting. Again Happy Birthday to one of the loveliest people I have ever met. xo

On another note I'd like to share my outfit with you if I may...

Along the same lines of Spring and bold colors, I chose a simple outfit with a pop of color and patterned tights to "wow" things up a little tiny bit as I eaaaase into this new season with joy.

Rasberry is the color of choice today. I like a cap sleeve dress because it shows of toned arms and if you're broad in the upper body/shoulder area like I am it allows you to move your arms more freely and easily than a longer sleeve. For those ladies who are a little bustier you'll find a scoop neck provides full coverage without covering your collar bone and leaves a little room for a necklace to be exposed. Find a cut and length that works for you. This will be dependent on your figure (shape/size) and of course your height.

With such a feminine color and dress cut I prefer a more tailored blazer style. Something that defines your waist, and nothing too long. In the photo below the blazer has long sleeves which is nice if you're prone to getting cold at the office. I prefer a 3/4 sleeve length for comfort.

I chose a patterned tight today. This draws attention to my legs, which is never a bad thing ladies, but also adds another "wow" factor to the outfit. My tights have a chevron pattern from top to bottom which also creates a lengthening effect for those of you with shorter legs, try tights with patterns in vertical striping, or any pattern with a downward effect to elongate your legs.

My shoes are from Aldo (Flicker- as seen in the photo below). Again a simple pointed toe, black patent pump goes with everything. I wear them most days. They are a 2.5 inch heel that allows me to easily walk around the office from 9-5.

Have a lovely day Beauties!

Today's outfit

It's the first day of Spring and I'm feeling excited. Unfortunately today's weather in Toronto does not reflect the change of season and so today I paired a bright dress with tights and a blazer to be bold and warm.

My actual items are as follows:

1. Blazer from H&M (one of my most favorite stores)
2. Dress from Macy's
3. Tights are Vera Wang- extremely durable material and fit well
4. Flats from Zellers which is no longer a store option in Toronto, we have welcomed Target!

Outfit for Today

Hi Dolls,

Here is a clip of "my outfit" today. Again, these are not all of the specific items I'm wearing today just an idea of the outfit in general to get your creative juices flowing for items you might have in your own closet that you can put together for work. Part of the reason I love looking at fashion magazines is that I find it to be inspiring. I might not have all the pieces shown in the magazine, but I could have one or two and I find inspiration to use those items in different ways with the items I do own. So here is the link to my polyvore page...

http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=75976939

Here are the details of the actual pieces I'm wearing - My boyfriend blazer is from Dynamite, shoes are from Aldo (sale!), pants are from Loft, top JC Penney, my Michael Kors watch is favorite item and wear it daily, with a cute pair of studs.

Today

Morning!

For those of you that follow me on Polyvore you've already noted that I've been pinning a version of my outfit each day for a few weeks now. These outfits are created by me on Polyvore and inspired by my daily outfits. They are not exactly the brands or items I'm wearing but something very similar in shape, style and color.
I have recently thrown out my black flats, which will need to be replaced, but have not been yet. Therefore I chose to wear all black today and a printed shoe. With minimal jewelry, only my staples, Michael Kors watch (cuff in my link, studs and a necklace).

Enjoy Monday March 18, 2013.

As many of you know...

As many of you know I've been in the works of changing my blogs appearance...for about the last 8 months. It's still in the works but I figured why stop blogging in the mean time!?

It's been a few months since I've bothered to publish any posts since most of my posts have been entries in to Word documents that I've been saving for my launch. Since that is happening much slower than I originally anticipated I'll let you in on some of my plans and secrets for my new blog space.

As those of you closest to me know I'm very much interested in Hair, Nails and Fashion. So naturally I'll be sharing some creative and fun ideas with you as I find inspiration in all sorts of places on the web, daily life and magazines etc.

I'll be updating the latest on my life for those of you that care enough to read and for those of you who don't my new layout will give you the option to avoid areas of the blog you're not interested in.

I'm planning to use this site as a platform for Elle Designs which some of you may know is the name of my earring/jewelry design hobby.

This site is also meant to be inspiring to my readers. I'd like to provide solid and sound advice, facts and food for thought to my readers on different things in life.

Mostly the idea is to be positive, inspiring and most of all FUN!

As you all know I love music. I love throwbacks and discovering new artists and I am open and interested in most genres and artists. What is your favorite artist/song right now? I'd be interested in taking a listen.

That's all for now
